I am very happy and honored to promote BvB Dallas – Big D Powderpuff Tackling Alzheimer’s, Inc. Over the past eight years, this organization has raised over $2.3 million and we are set to surpass the $3 million mark in total fundraising after this season in the hope of finding a cure for Alzheimer’s and other Dementia.
Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia related diseases are the only cause of death in the Top 10 in America that cannot be slowed, cured, or prevented. It is estimated that over two thirds of Alzheimer’s patients are female.
Mike John, one of my best friends, and I have a mutual, dear friend, Dana Drago (age 58) who is suffering from early onset Alzheimer’s diagnosed 2 ½ years ago. She is currently in late stages and resides in a nursing home. She has shown courage, dignity and grace through her journey. I am her loyal care manager, best friend, and “sister”. She has an amazing support group with her loving family, friends and her dedicated caregivers, Ingrid, Catherine, and myself. She is a joy and blessing in our lives and we want to help in finding a cure! I encourage you to give what you can, no amount is too small. Please help me in the fight to #EndALZ. Thank you so much for your support!” – Misty Keown
BvB Dallas, Big D Powderpuff Tackling Alzheimer’s, Inc., is a powder-puff football game hosted for a day of fun, fellowship, philanthropy and enjoyment as a way of raising money and awareness for Alzheimer’s Disease research and awareness. BvB Dallas was founded by Erin Finegold in memory of her grandmother who was taken by Alzheimer’s and in honor of her grandfather, a steadfast caregiver who watched this tragic disease take his wife away from him.
BvB is a personal way for young professionals across the country to raise awareness, funds and support to help TACKLE ALZHEIMER’S FOREVER. BvB Dallas has raised over $2.3 million in its 8 year history and hopes to continue this legacy year after year.
