Make the Holidays about Joy and Peace of Mind!

The Holiday Season is here so make sure YOU are part of the celebration this holiday season and enjoy quality time with your family and friends.

Happy Holidays 2014 from Premier ConciergePlan Ahead and Simplify

The secret to having everything run smoothly this holiday season is to plan ahead and keep things off your agenda that really don’t belong there.

  • Make a list of all the activities that you would like to participate in this holiday season.
  • Include your preparation time such as gift shopping, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry and other preparations if you have guests coming for a few days. Be sure to add travel time if you are going to a party or visiting family out of town.
  • Evaluate your list and decide which tasks and activities are a “must” and which ones can be left off your calendar and then SCHEDULE everything! Are there tasks that you can delegate or outsource? Most importantly, just say “NO” to anything that will not enhance your holiday!

Premier Concierge recommends Yoga for the holidaysGet your Daily Exercise & Quiet Time

We all know that exercise is one of the best stress managers.  However, when the hustle and bustle of the holidays comes along, it is the first thing we skip. Do not compromise on your exercise!  Also, make time for “quite time” such as Yoga, Meditation or just sitting in a quiet place. Make the time for exercise and quiet time and you will breeze through the season with a new energy.  Your family and friends will thank you!

Shop from the Comfort of Your Own Home

The internet has made holiday shopping simple!  It is so nice to get most items off your various lists without fighting the crowds.  By shopping early, you give yourself peace of mind and free up time for all those other little things that make the holidays so magical.

Premier concierge says take time for familyKeep Your Priorities Straight

Remember – – the holidays are not about perfection, they are a time of celebration!  It’s a time of letting go and truly enjoying the ones that make your life the special gift that it is.

The best gift that you can give your family and friends this holiday season is YOU!  So make sure to slow down a little this holiday season and make lasting memories.  Cheers!

Happy Holidays 2016!!

Get your Holidays started in November!

The holidays will be upon us soon so enjoy your special moments by planning ahead with these tips:

  1. Pack away the summer and Halloween decorations and pick up bargains now for next year.  Be sure things are labeled, clean, and in good shape before storing them away.
  1. Premier Concierge Fall ColorsPlan your Thanksgiving holiday now, so you have time to enjoy when the day is here.

*If you are cooking, start planning the menu (and grocery list).  Shop for food the week before to avoid the rush and have the best selection.  If you can prepare any recipes ahead of time and freeze them, it will free up some time in the kitchen on turkey day.

*If you are hosting houseguests, make a cleaning schedule (do not forget to get the chimney cleaned if you plan on using the fireplace).  Tackle the big things at the beginning of the month and just spruce up the day before they arrive.  Be sure you have enough linens, and travel-size soaps and shampoos for emergencies.

  1. Take time to start your holiday gift list.  The best shopping deals start on Thanksgiving Day and you do not want to miss out!

Be sure to treasure the precious holiday moments with family and friends as well as the beautiful fall weather this month!

Making the Most of Graduation Season!

Graduation is indeed a proud and momentous occasion.  What a joy for all involved!

But like so many momentous occasions, graduations can bring some unexpected stressors –strong emotions, logistical challenges surrounding parties and out-of-town guests, gift buying dilemmas –all things that can put a difficult spin on a time that is supposed to be wonderful. The key to enjoying this milestone is in doing some advance planning!

Premier concierge remembers graduation day*When buying graduation gifts, remember to think of the recipient and the next stage of their life.  Consider school colors, new living situations (dorm rooms vs. a first apartment; local vs. out of state), and shipping costs.  Be sure to get a gift receipt in case the gift needs to be exchanged. Pass along a keepsake if you have one that is meaningful.

*High School and college students are always thrilled with gift cards and cash.  Add a nice note telling them how proud you are of them!

Celebrate graduation with Premier Concierge*Talk to your child about what it was like when you graduated.  Let them know that it’s alright to be nervous and excited about the next big step in their lives.

*Have a calendar of all graduation events posted for all to see.  Be sure that the graduate knows the dress code (and has the proper clothes!) for each event.  Parking and seating are notoriously hard to come by at graduation ceremonies – leave extra time to avoid the crowd!

Grad 3*If you are thinking of throwing a graduation party with family and friends, let your graduate have some input.  While you may want to invite everyone to share in the excitement, it’s an emotional time for your child and he or she may not want all the attention on them.  Consider a small get together if this is the case.

*Have the party details wrapped up ahead of time so you can enjoy the day!  Plan the menu, decide on the decorations and complete your shopping as far ahead as possible.

*If your graduate is moving out of the house, be sure to set up a schedule to keep in touch.  Weekly video chats will keep you connected and informed of their progress and can be as quick or as lengthy as your child’s schedule permits.

Finally, remember to have a good time and ENJOY your child’s grad

De-stressing After the Holidays

shoped outWe are excited when the Holidays are approaching but did the holidays get the best of you? Sometimes all the stress form time lines, people issues, standing in line for exchanges, parking lot traffic can leave us tired and glad the Holidays are over. So let’s get 2014 off to a great start by prioritizing what is most important and what can wait or be done by someone else.

  1.  Exchanges: Do you have returns and exchanges to be made? Our first tip is to be sure to check the store’s policy on returns. Most stores list their return policy no their website or give a quick call before you leave. Tip two is to bring your receipt along to make it easy.
  2.  Thank You notes: To ease the stress or Thank you notes, write them a few at a time and they won’t seem so overwhelming. Place your resources on a tray (notes, addresses, stamps and pen) so they will be together but can be set aside for a break
  3.  Decorations: As you take down the holiday decorations, purge those that are broken or worn.  Be sure to buy replacements now that the discounts are up to 90% off.
  4.  Calendar:  Start the year off by updating your calendar with major events such as weddings, vacations, school dates and work dates. Remember to add time for you for medical and workouts.
  5.  January Activities: Look ahead to the January birthdays and anniversaries and purchase those cards now. You can also write them at once. Following these tips will save time and money.

If you have ideas on making 2014 better we would love to hear from you. Please leave a comment below, send an email (info@PremierConcierge.net) or call us( 972-788-1587).
